Protecting and Preserving the
Millstone Valley Scenic Byway Corridor

The mission of Millstone Valley Preservation Coalition is squarely focused on preserving the historic, natural, and scenic assets of the Millstone Valley. The valley has been described by consultants working for the National Park Service as the most “historically evocative” section of the 700-mile Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail. An important part of our preservation effort was the writing of a Corridor Management Plan that has been approved by our county and municipal partners. We also work collaboratively with local, state, and national stakeholders to protect the beautiful Millstone Valley for the enjoyment of our community today and for generations into the future.

Millstone Valley Scenic Byway Corridor Management Plan

The Millstone Valley Corridor Management Plan was prepared in 2008 for the Millstone Valley Preservation Coalition and the New Jersey Department of Transportation. The plan is a document describing the goals, strategies and responsibilities for conserving and enhancing the Millstone Valley Scenic Byway’s most valuable qualities. It includes both a long-term vision for what the Byway may become and a short-term action plan. For the purposes of preserving and enhancing the Millstone Valley, the Millstone Valley Scenic Byway corridor includes both the travel route and the lands and places associated with that route.
